Vauxhall has announced the next production Vauxhall Astra is set to be built at its 
Ellesmere Port facility which will see an estimated £125m investment and
 around 700 jobs created.
Assembly of the new Vauxhall Astra is not scheduled to start till 2015, with a
 plan to build 160,00 new vehicles each year.  Operating on three 
shifts, the plant is expected to run profiably.
The £125m investment will be used to upgrade the plant to the latest
 manufacturing standards and to prepare for the production of the new 
Astra.
