Italian GP Formula One Race Results

Lewsi Hamilton wins the Italian GP at Monza with a dominant race victory. Hamilton started the race on pole position, with a great start he quickly pulled out a decent lead to take the McLaren home for some much needed championship points. This became his 3rd win of the 2012 f1 season and the 20th of his career.

McLarens teammate Jenson Button had a slightly poor start after losing out early to Felipe Massa, but later regained his 2nd place which looked like a possible McLaren 1-2 race finish.  But Buttons race abrubtly eneded with a fuel issue.

Sauber's Sergio Perez who started the race in 12th position had an amazing race to finish on the podim in second position. Third place went to Fernando Alonso who also had a great race after starting down in tenth position. Alonso worked his way through the field to second place but lost out to a much faster Perez in the late stages.

Felipe Massa finished the race in fourth after a decent race from him with Kimi Raikkonen coming home to round off the top 5.

Sebastian Vettel's race ended with 5 laps to go after the Red Bull team ordered Vettel to "stop the car to save the engine".

Next on the calendar for the Formula 1 series will be the 2012 Singapore Grand Prix in two weeks time.
