Ford has released the first details of the all new 2013 Ford Mondeo
which will go on sale in autumn next year and will be available as a
five-door and estate.
It will be the first car in its segment equipped with a 123bhp
1.0-litre EcoBoost engine, the 2012 “International Engine of the Year”,
which will deliver the best-in-class fuel economy
The Mondeo's styling has been updated from the previous model and gives a
refined, elegant and sporty exterior, with a trapezoidal front grill
and a reveised headlight design to give the Mondeo a more aggresive
look. Theres also LED daytime running lights and a new sleek bulging
bonnet.
The interior is set to be more luxurious, a higher quality instrument panel and soft touch materials with premium finishes.
The Mondeo will also offer SYNC with MyFord Touch a voice-activated
in-car connectivity system that delivers an eight-inch colour
touchscreen and the ability to act as a WiFi hotspot for up to five
devices.
SYNC with MyFord Touch will enable drivers to keep their hands on
the wheel and eyes on the road while controlling phone and media player
functions from connected devices, as well as the vehicle’s climate
control, radio and CD-player, and navigation system, using voice
commands.
Barb Samardzich, vice president, product development, Ford of
Europe, said: “This is the most premium Mondeo we’ve ever built and the
most premium vehicle Ford’s loyal European customers have ever been
offered.
“It raises the bar in its segment in terms of style, technology and quality.”
